New TS3 patch out today

Hey guys! Don't patch unless you have to. Seems the patch has broken all CC that uses slots. This means tables, couches, etc. If you patched in the last few days with the store patch (it was an in-game pop-up from what I have read) your store crap should be ok. Just don't use the new patch until you either have to because you're installing Pets or until creators have had the chance to update.

And don't forget to remove your hacks and mods if you do patch. They rely on game version compatibility so it doesn't matter if you install the EP or not. You patch, you update hacks.

Apparently the new patch fixes the graphical issues experienced by Mac players. So the Mac lovers out there might want to patch regardless and just play vanilla for a while.

I have no idea. I didn't get the store content pop-up so I didn't use the store patch. I'm off to work in about 20 minutes so I don't have the time to search for that patch to patch manually and check whether it affects cupcakes or not. Hopefully it leaves ALL store content unaffected.

Any idea where we can get the store patch manually? I'm more than happy to be the crash test dummy for this as I have a day off tomorrow so I can play the reinstall and manual patch to 1.24 game if need be. But until we get more information from the coders out there, I'm assuming that everything is "broken". Not sure what level of broken because I have not seen any info about how it affects stuff in-game. I'm tempted to just patch and check but on the other hand I don't want to end up with a whole lot of borked save games, either.

No need to panic just yet. When I start running around and flailing you will know that THEN it's time to panic. For now I'm all about the wait-and-see.

I don't understand why I didn't get the "store update" pop-up. And I even installed some Sims3pack content last night and I didn't have the exclamation mark on the update button in the Launcher. So I don't get why some people got the pop-up and others didn't.

Thanks for being a tester :) I hope the store update is included in the patch because otherwise a whole lot of people are screwed if they didn't get the pop-up about it.

Keep in mind that the packages are decrapified so they work in your game. This means that the game is identifying them as different objects. Which probably also means that package or Sims3Pack format makes no difference because they are not "store items" as far as the game + patch are concerned.

Thanks for this update! I always try to hang back and hold off on patching(and/or installing a new EP) for a few weeks, just so I know what I'm in for. Breaking slots? Gosh, that sounds obnoxious. D:

Yes, that is particularly obnoxious.

A lot of people are panicking because "oh noes my precious CCs! they is borked!" but I think we just need to wait and see what happens. On MTS Whiterider appears to have found a way of determing the _RIG of the file that needs to be updated and Inge has come up with a way of updating the files. So it's just a matter of time and maybe of learning to update objects yourself if your favourite couch is no longer supported by the creator.

I'm hoping that Pescado comes up with an update for the decrapifier that will auto-fix the store crap for those who either (1) ignored the "update for store content" pop-up or (2) never got the pop-up in the first place so they didn't get the store content update patch.

I have a bit of time on my hands this morning due to a slow day at work. I might do a bit of a surf around the MTS creator forums and around MATY, see what's being said. I found out "ah crap stuff broken" this morning and then had to go to work. I hate not knowing the level of borkedness.

I would say that the cupcakes are definitely affected. I'm going to try to find a method of fixing everything. At the moment there is very scant information on how everything is affected. From what I understand it's mostly a case of funky animations. It could be that I just need to run the files through a batch command for the decrapifier and recompressor. I used the old version of the recompressor before and those files would DEFINITELY be affected. I'm not a modder so some of the stuff being said about how people are fixing content is going over my head a bit but I will try to get everything fixed and reuploaded as soon as I figure out what I need to do.

Cupcakes also come in Sims3Pack format. Which have been run through compressorizor AND decrapifier. I was not able to get Sims3Pack for update 25 and 27 but will look and update with Sims3Packs once I get them. I installed the Sims3Pack cupcakes last night because I was having problems with counters in .package format not recolouring. I will patch and test tomorrow.

ETA: Forgot to say that the .packages have been through compressorizer and decrap as well. So it's unlikely that it will change anything for the .package files but you can always grab the Sims3Packs instead.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised about the patch crappyness :( Why, oh why can't they make anything properly!?!?!!
